MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin and visiting Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in on Friday agreed to keep working together to ensure full implementation of the agreements reached by Pyongyang and Washington, the Kremlin said.
At the beginning of their talks, Putin said Moscow and Seoul share common approaches to resolving pressing international issues including the nuclear program of the Democratic People"s Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to a Kremlin press release.
"Russia has always advocated normalization on the Korean Peninsula and has always made and intends to make further its feasible contribution to the settlement of all disputable issues," Putin said.
Moon said he and Putin have the same goals regarding the DPRK"s denuclearization and the establishment of sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Noting the recent meeting between the DPRK and US leaders, Moon said, "We will continue to interact closely with the Russian government to ensure that both the DPRK and the US implement all agreements."
The two leaders also praised the positively developing bilateral relations and discussed guidelines for further development of their ties, according to the Kremlin.
DPRK top leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump held an unprecedented summit on June 12 in Singapore and consequently signed a joint statement.
